Old Film 5 Fuji Xtra 400 (I think) Bartlesville, OK Fall 2010 This one’s a little bittersweet. This picture is from the first roll of film I ever shot with an SLR. I took my dad’s Canon F1, two rolls of film, and my car out for a day to teach myself photography. Who would’ve thought I’d be doing photography for a profession 9 years later. Today I brought the old Civic in for an oil change and walked out of the shop with a $500 repair estimate. It’s helpful to remind myself just how far this little car has taken me over the years with barely a hiccup. After moving to Houston I had a very tough time finding a job. I finally found one with a real estate photography company. I’ve been doing it for about 2 weeks and loving it so far, but it also involves around 60+ miles per day of driving for the Civic. The timing couldn’t be much worse. To top it off I’m driving back to Bartlesville this weekend to photograph All That Jazz (hence the oil change). Oh well. You have treated me exceptionally well little Civic Si, and you’ll just have to keep hanging on.
